Portion Control to Get and Stay Slim

Using the five basic food guidelines, Lisa Young, nutritionist and faculty member of NYU, came up with a strategy for people to get and stay slim without deprivation.
- Mind your mouthfuls. – focus on the amount of carbohydrates or fat you consume.
- Add first, then subtract. – before you take anything away, stock up on fruits and veggies.
- Negotiate your cut backs. – decrease your [portions of junk food.
- Pack in protein. – this can make you feel full.
- Forget white flour. – this can give your body nothing but empty calories.
